FAQ

What should I wear for my session?
Decide if you want your pictures to be more formal or casual and dress accordingly.  Solid colors with no or limited patterns are best.  Black or other dark colors are the most slimming choices.  When coordinating a group, exact color matches are not necessary, but try to pick colors that compliment each other well.  Layers and texture can help give depth and life to a photo, so keep that in mind. And of course, be sure you're comfortable!  The guidelines for newborn shoots will be given to you when you book a newborn session.

What time of day is best when shooting on location?
Early morning or late afternoon before sundown are best for lighting purposes.  Those exact times will change year-round depending on the season.  Overcast skies are great for shooting, but that's not always something we can plan for.  If you can only be photographed during midday, then it would be best to choose a shady location or indoors where harsh lighting from the sun won't be an issue.

Do you offer prints?
I don't at this time, though they may be offered at some future point.  If, however, you would really like your pictures professionally printed let me know and we can discuss options further.

How long will it take to get my CD?
Please allow up to 2 weeks for editing. Weddings will take longer.

Why should I have you take our pictures instead of someone cheaper like Target?
I used to take my children to JCPenny mostly because of the price. But it always frustrated me to no end that they only shot 12 pictures and I had to choose from those. I always felt rushed because they were backed up on their sessions and needed to hurry through.  At times I had no say in what kind of pictures were taken and other times they wouldn't offer a single suggestion and made me decide everything.  Often, it was my husband and me trying to pick out the picture we disliked the least just so we could have something!

By going with a photographer like myself, you'll get a more personable and relaxed experience as well as more pictures to take home.  I try to capture personalities and not just pictures.  Because you get a CD with printing rights, it won't matter how many pictures you print, and YOU get to decide how much they cost by where you choose to print them.  If Grandma wants all 30 pictures from your session, it shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg!

Also, Target won't edit those dark circles out from under your eyes or clear up that scratch your newborn just performed on his otherwise perfect little face!
